New Morning Gallery

“Art for Living” has been the touchstone phrase for New Morning Gallery since its founding in 1972 by Asheville entrepreneur and philanthropist John Cram. The gallery’s focus over the years has been bringing collectors and makers together in a space to celebrate the handmade—and they definitely do! Browse mugs, dinnerware, jewelry, furniture, garden sculptures, or many more offerings at the gallery’s 12,500 sq. ft. space in the heart of Biltmore Village.

Bellagio Art to Wear

“Art to Wear” is a natural fit for New Morning’s sister gallery, Bellagio Art to Wear. Southern Highland Craft Guild

The Southern Highland Craft Guild is where creativity goes wild in the heart of the Southern Appalachian region. Since 1930, they’ve been all about celebrating and preserving traditional crafts. They represent more than 800 talented artists, each making mind-blowing handmade items like ceramics, textiles, woodwork, and more. Visit them at the Folk Art Center to see exhibitions and attend monthly events! 

Blue Spiral 1

Blue Spiral 1 is the heart of a booming art scene in downtown Asheville. For over 30 years, this three-story, multi-gallery shop has maintained a diverse and extensive exhibition schedule, hosting over 25 shows in their main and lower-level galleries each year. On the upper level of the storefront, you’ll find a wide array of artworks—ceramics, painting, glass, photography, sculpture, and more—from more than 100 artists. Blue Spiral also offers art consulting, installation, and shipping services to provide customers with a complete art service experience.

Reciprocity 

When you walk inside Reciprocity, you’ll find a mix of new and resale boutique clothing from brands like Free People, Anthropologie, J.Crew, and Urban Outfitters, to name a few. If you love to play music, you most likely know the name Moog. We’re so lucky to have the Moog Factory in the heart of downtown Asheville for visitors and locals to explore and shop! Visit the Moog store, play the gear, take a free factory tour to learn the science and engineering behind Moog synthesizers, and purchase a new electronic musical instrument. They carry and sell the full lineup of Moog instruments and a wide array of third-party boutique synthesizers and effects. Woodrow Instrument Co.

What is a Woodrow? The Woodrow is an upright variant of a traditional mountain dulcimer that holds like a guitar. The Woodrow is also one of the easiest instruments you can learn. If you’re musically inclined, you should stop by the Woodrow Instrument Co. storefront in downtown Asheville to try one on for size. 

Citizen Vinyl

Sip on a local artisan coffee while searching through old and modern records at Citizen Vinyl. The space triples as a vinyl pressing plant, a record shop, an awesome coffee bar during the day, and a standard bar in the evening. Voted one of the best bars in America, you have to see why this spot has garnered national recognition. 

Static Age Records

Asheville has a few record stores, but one of our favorites is Static Age Records in the heart of downtown Asheville. The store also doubles as an event space and hosts various weekly live performances!

If you love antiquing but are looking for more high-end furniture items, Village Antiques near Biltmore Village is the place for you. Their collections appeal to designers, collectors, and decorators of fine antique furniture and art.
