Asheville is a city of constant change, with new businesses popping up as others close. It can be a challenge to keep up with all the latest places to explore. To make things easier, we’ve compiled a diverse list of the newest Asheville restaurants, bars, breweries, and other businesses. Whether you’re a foodie, a beer enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique experience, there’s something for everyone in our mountain town.

Check out what’s new this month below.

Terra Nova Brewing | The highly anticipated Terra Nova Brewing has finally opened its doors! Situated in the former Bhramari Brewing Company space in the South Slope Brewing District, this is Terra Nova’s second location in Western North Carolina — the first being in Swannanoa. What sets this brewery apart is its harmonious blend with nature. The indoor space boasts a cozy tasting room adorned with murals and living moss walls, private gathering areas, and a comfortable lounge banquette. Stepping outside, you’ll find a beer garden teeming with native plants and pollinators, complete with an outdoor bar. It’s the perfect spot to sample their diverse range of brews, including IPAs, pale ales, porters, pilsners, lagers and more. And if you’re hungry, you can grab a slice from the on-site eatery, Mission Pizza.

Mission Pizza | Now open inside the new Terra Nova Brewing location, Mission Pizza offers pizza, salads, and other Italian-inspired dishes by James Beard-nominated Chef Peyton Smith and his team. At its original location in Winston-Salem, NC, and the newest in Asheville, Mission Pizza serves Napoletana (or Neapolitan) pies, which are wood-fired, resulting in a light, pliable pizza with a crispy crust. This unique type of pizza includes fresh, balanced toppings that don’t overwhelm it. You can try any of their delicious creations Sunday and Monday from 12-8 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 12-8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 12-9 p.m.

Auction House Food Hall | You can have your pick and eat it too at this new food hall and eatery that recently opened in Fletcher, NC. Auction House Food Hall is the latest venture from KO Restaurant Group, the owners of HenDough Chicken and Donuts in Hendersonville, NC, and Gather GVL, a food hall in Greenville, SC. The new food hall showcases five unique counter-service concepts: food concepts Mercado Cantina, KO Burger, and Fish Camp 25, as well as beverage concepts Auction House Wine Bar and Blue Collar Bourbon Social. This is an ideal spot to bring a large group or to explore a wide array of different cuisines in one location.

Sly Grog Lounge | After Sly Grog Lounge, a beloved local bar and live music venue, was forced to close after a devastating fire in December 2021, the owners didn’t know if they could ever rebuild and reopen. But luckily, they were able to salvage much of the building and replace and repair what was lost in the fire, and are now back and better than ever! Besides live music every week, Sly Grog also offers vintage video games, arcade games, board games, books, and art supplies for patrons to enjoy. They also have a store, Foxy & Co., located beside it, selling vintage music, instruments, clothes, jewelry, toys, and more. Welcome back, Sly Grog! The Asheville community missed you.

Wine & Roses | Inside the new boutique hotel Zelda Dearest, guests and passersby will find the newly opened parlour bar Wine & Roses. An homage to Zelda Fitzgerald’s wondrous life as a vibrant socialite, Wine & Roses offers local beer and expansive wine menus, all curated by Asheville Chef Jacob Sessoms. Cocktails, bubbles, beer, whites, and reds—there’s a flavor for everyone to sip on. And you won’t ever want to leave the decadently styled cocktail lounge with its vintage decor and old-world vibe. It’s the perfect place to gather with friends and wind down after a long day.

Chen Garden Asian Bistro | The reviews are in — Arden, NC, has a new Asian restaurant, and it’s getting high praise from the local community! Located on Long Shoals Road, Chen Garden offers a menu featuring all your Chinese cuisine favorites, including seafood and chicken dishes, Hibachi dinners, noodles, Teriyaki, tempuras and more. A family-owned business, Chen Garden is the new hidden gem you won’t want to miss. Customer favorites include the House Special Fried Rice, General TSO’s Chicken and Vegetable Lo Mein.
