Showcasing the best in dining, shopping and sightseeing.
To connect readers with the places and people that make Asheville and Western North Carolina one of the most sought-after places to visit and live.
Since our first edition was published in 2003, A Look at Asheville has become a trusted resource for visitors and locals alike, introducing more than 3 million people each year to everything that makes this one of the “Top 15 Cities in the United States” (Travel + Leisure, July 2018) and one of the “Top-Rated Vacation Destinations in North America” (Expedia, May 2018). The book and this website are created and managed by people who have called this city home for many years – individuals who long to share their passion for the area, including its distinctive businesses, warm hospitality and beautiful scenery.
OUR WORK IS DEDICATED TO...
the memory of A Look at Asheville publisher Stephanie Smith, a remarkable businesswoman, tireless volunteer and loving friend who dedicated her life to promoting the city where she was born and raised. Stephanie passed away on August 7, 2017 after battling pancreatic cancer, but her spirit lives on through A Look at Asheville.
A percentage of each copy of the print edition sold is given to The V Foundation, which was established by late NC State basketball coach Jim Valvano with a singular goal: to achieve victory over cancer. Please consider giving to the V Foundation in Stephanie’s name by visiting this link.
